Ecoliving is about becoming the model for change that you want to see in the world. The Buddhists call this Right Livelihood.
As discussed here this notion of EcoLiving seeks to build on many of the principles of Paolo Soleri’s Arcology vision. However this variant also sees a disconnect in many of his views that led to Arcosanti never actually becoming a true model of EcoLiving. Instead Arcosanti ended up reflecting and manifesting the mainstream contradictions. It is these contradictions which keep us mired in a slow state of decline, unable to offer compelling models of social change and renewal which are needed to address the core issues raised by the Deep Ecology and Sustainability movements..
